Artists in collaboration:
Oliver Cain is an English born/New Zealand Artist. His artworks, subverted linguistic paintings, ceramic sculptures and installations, bear a certain physicality and push the boundaries between conceptualism and post-pop art. As proud member of the queer community, Cain uses his work to examine, question and criticize the relationships between gender, (homo)sexuality and societies’ misconceptions about those themes.
Andrew J. Steel (b. 1987) is a New Zealand contemporary artist who focuses on the art of story telling. Over his career he has worked with and gained recognition from leading art collectors, interior designers, architects & publishers. He works across the mediums of public art, private interiors, fine artwork, letterpress, body and digital works. Steel’s early career was expressed as one half of street art duo “BMD”, but separated to pursue his solo career in the arts in 2015.
Ceramic artwork care:
This work was designed & handmade as a collectible piece. It’s art. It can serve as a functional vessel to sip liquid from, but the artists recommend care with hot liquids and to gently clean by hand after use. Natural variation in glaze cracking & colouration is to be expected.
